Description
Rich Orchestral Sound with Exceptional Versatility
The CHI Brass Jacobs 2 is inspired by a historic mouthpiece from Arnold Jacobs’ collection. The original design is believed to date back to a 1930s-era Helleberg, which was later modified. During the 1980s, two copies of this design were made for Jacobs.
The surviving originals and copies are now part of Brian Frederiksen’s collection. CHI Brass updated the unique shank dimensions of these historical examples to ensure compatibility with modern instruments while preserving the essential characteristics of the original design.
The result? An exceptionally versatile mouthpiece that delivers a clear, overtone-rich sound on large instruments while also performing remarkably well on EEb and F tubas.
