The Middle Ground Between the Jacobs 2 and JS Helleberg
The 4023 was designed specifically to fill the space between two of CHI Brass’s most popular Helleberg designs: the Jacobs 2 and JS Helleberg.
It combines the comfortable Jacobs 2 rim with an inner diameter larger than the Jacobs 2 but smaller than the JS.
The cup shape is derived from the JS, while the throat and backbore come from the Jacobs 2.
The result is a mouthpiece that merges the large, burly tonal characteristics of the JS with the responsiveness, flexibility, and low-register growl of the Jacobs 2.
