CHI Brass Floyd Cooley 2 Tuba Mouthpiece

Floyd Cooley had a group of ten special mouthpieces made that were slightly larger in several dimensions than his other mouthpieces while retaining his characteristic rim contour. These mouthpieces became almost legendary among his students.

The CHI Brass Floyd Cooley 2 is a reproduction of one of those ten mouthpieces, updated with a modern shank and slightly greater exterior mass.

Performance Characteristics

The Cooley 2 moves toward the contrabass side of the Floyd Cooley Collection. It offers more cup volume than the Cooley 1 while retaining Floyd’s comfortable rim and efficient response.
